Wireless Sensor Network for Wearable Physiological Monitoring
Wearable physiological monitoring system consists of an array of sensors embedded into the fabric of the wearer to continuously monitor the physiological parameters and transmit wireless to a remote monitoring station. At the remote monitoring station the data is correlated to study the overall health status of the wearer. In the conventional wearable physiological monitoring system, the sensor...
متن کاملTranscutaneous oxygen monitoring during fiberoptic bronchoscopy.
A transcutaneous oxygen sensor was used to detect the development of hypoxemia in patients undergoing fiberoptic bronchoscopy. Measurements of transcutaneous PO2 (tcPO2) correlated well with arterial PO2 (PaO2), and correctly detected all instances when PaO2 was less than 65 mm Hg. The sensor was noninvasive and caused no adverse effects.
متن کاملTranscutaneous oxygen and carbon dioxide monitoring in sick neonates using a combined sensor.
Using a combined O2-CO2 sensor, we evaluated the effect of cathode size and membrane thickness and incorporation of correction factor upon transcutaneous O2-CO2 readings. The present studies were carried out in three phases in newborns less than a week of age. The data from these studies indicate that a combined O2-CO2 sensor with a smaller cathode, Teflon membrane and with a built-in correctio...
متن کاملTranscutaneous oxygen monitoring of patients undergoing nitrous oxide-oxygen sedation
The objective of this study was to assess the changes in transcutaneous oxygen tension in pediatric patients undergoing nitrous oxide-oxygen analgesia. A total of 19 healthy patients, ranging in age from 3 to 19 years with a mean age of 9.8 years, were included. Transcutaneous oxygen monitoring was performed; following stabilization, baseline readings were obtained. Oxygen was delivered at 3 I/...
